LAKE COUNTY?Clearlake resident Sue Anne McGibben, 65, is at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with a broken neck and a shattered knee after an April 7 head-on crash on Highway 20 just east of Walker Ridge Road, according to her sister, Kathy McGibben.
Kathy McGibben said her sister was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial the night of the accident. The hospital”s spokesperson, Priscilla Locke, confirmed Thursday that Sue McGibben was in critical condition. Kathy McGibben said the accident fractured her sister”s neck and broke her kneecap.
“We don”t know what”s going to happen,” Kathy McGibben said.
Sacramento resident Mica Marie Marks, 19, died after the 2001 Honda Accord she was driving east on the highway at approximately 4 p.m. crossed double-yellow lines, according to the California Highway Patrol. Marks spun out of control and collided with an oncoming 1995 Chevrolet van driven by Sue McGibben.
According to a CHP report, Sue McGibben saw the Honda coming “just moments before impact” and turned to avoid a collision. It was raining at the time of the crash and the roadway was wet, according to the report.
