In response to Melissa Fulton”s article regarding support needed for the fireworks display this year, I got to thinking that if everyone chipped in a little, it could go a long way. Just think, if 5,000 people gave $5, we could raise $25,000 and have one heck of a show! Last year it cost about $18,000 and it was a darn good show! The chamber will soon be placing donation containers around Lakeport. Look for them and give what you can. And, when you see the “Add a Dollar” for fireworks campaign in the stores, add $5 please. Thanks and here”s to hoping that Lakeport can have fireworks over the lake this year!
