Randy Ridgel, on Thursday, April 16 was annoyed that President Obama uses teleprompters when making a televised address. I think it”s nice that we have a president who actually prepares his remarks and can deliver them with some semblance of rational thought. Our previous president instead was cocky and thought so much of his own persuasive powers (particularly after talking us all into a war that should never have happened) that his ego told him he didn”t need to prepare remarks, much less read them. President Obama explained exactly why he uses prepared remarks a week or so ago when asked why he didn”t respond to a particular news item for two days. “I like to know what I”m talking about,” was his answer. Perhaps Randy will be more comfortable when President Obama”s teleprompter asks, “Is our children learning?”
For something completely different, also on Thursday”s front page, I note (former supervisor) Gary Lewis is holding a sign that says “Vote No State/Fed Incumbents.” I assume this is because it would have been OK with him to vote for a local incumbent, when he was one.
