LAKEPORT — The “Pajama Game”? What is that? Well, some of us may remember that it was a musical comedy in the ?50s that starred Doris Day. Who? Yeah, it”s a period piece, but, wow! What a show!
An award winner by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, this outrageous comedy has more hits than a baseball season and enough energy to power all of Lake County and beyond! What a way to usher in the summer at the lake!
Lake County Theatre Company (LCTC) and Mendocino College are combining again to produce an extravaganza like nothing in this area since “Fiddler on the Roof.” Where can you go to see 30 of your fellow citizens sing, dance and rock out? Where can you go for a wild mixture of romance and knife throwing? Knife throwing? Yup!
On May 7,8,10, 14,15,16 and 17, “The Pajama Game” will light up the stage at the Little Theatre at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport. There”s just one problem: Saturday night car races at the fairgrounds. That is why there will be no show on Saturday night, May 9. Makes sense, right?
For this reason we will include two Thursday night performances and two performances on Saturday, May 16 (no races that day), for this big-time Broadway show.
Evening shows will start at 7 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday matinees will begin at 2 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale ($15 for reserved, $13 for general and $2 less in each catagory for LCTC members, seniors and students under 18) at the usual locations: Catfish Books in Lakeport for reserved and general general seating (263-4454), and for general seating only, Wild About Books in Clearlake (994-9453), and The Shannon Ridge Tasting Room in Clearlake Oaks (998-9656).
“The Pajama Game” will feature many of your favorite local stars and some new guys that will knock you socks off! Be there!
