Dear fellow motorists: Please slow down when driving on Red Hills Road! I hope the horrible accident that occurred on Monday morning April 20 serves as a wake up call to the many drivers who use this road daily as they pass through between Highways 175 and 29. As a resident of the Red Hills neighborhood for the past 18 years, I have observed a dramatic increase in the amount of traffic on this road. Unfortunately, many drivers use excessive speed, particularly during the morning and evening commute times. I have also experienced the frightening situation of watching helplessly as a hurried driver takes the risk of passing my vehicle over the double-yellow line, right before an oncoming vehicle.
Drivers … please think twice before speeding on this road … there are several unsafe curves and blind spots, particularly at the Spruce Grove Road intersection. Many families traveling with children, bicyclists, walkers and joggers use this road each day. Don”t take the risk of causing injury or death to yourself and others because you are in a hurry! Leave a little early for work to allow the extra time. Or just relax … a few extra minutes will not make much of a difference … but a severe accident could change your life in a moment … forever!
