KELSEYVILLE ?According to a press release provided by Public Information Officer Tanguay of California Highway Patrol (CHP), on Saturday at approximately 7:06 p.m., James Lebert, 82, from Kelseyville was driving his 1988 Volvo 240 DL northbound on Hummel Lane, north of Bell Hill Road at an unknown speed. For an unknown reason, Lebert allowed his vehicle to drift off of the pavement to the right. The Volvo traveled to the right and struck a mailbox post, and then continued through a wire fence with wood posts. Lebert”s vehicle continued out of control across an open field and then struck a tree.
Kelseyville Fire responded to the scene and had to extricate Lebert. He was flown by REACH helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial hospital where he died on Sunday at approximately 6 a.m. The crash is being investigated by CHP Officer Powell.
