LAKEPORT — The Main Street Gallery”s First Friday Fling”s reception for the artists, 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 1, will feature the showings of three new artists at the Main Street Gallery and Gift Shop, located at 325 N. Main St. in Lakeport.
Always continuing to amuse us is the metal found art work of Tom McComber. Newcomers to the Gallery are Charlie Ingram”s work in photography and John Galbraith with his fine charcoal drawings.
Continuing in the April show is a display of Floyd Surber”s well-crafted turquoise jewelry and Luawana Quitiquit”s jewelry and Pomo baskets. Ron Snider, Carolyn Hawley and Joan Facca present their works in oils while Jackie Farley and Sara Tichaava exhibit their talents in mixed media and Nicol Kriz in watercolors. Ann White of Andrewart, Allison Laederich”s collages and Jeff Tangen”s photographs round out this versatile show.
Our thanks to Jan Hambrick and her students for their fine showing of photography in the Linda Carpenter Gallery in April; we look forward to seeing their progress in future shows. Our thanks, as well, to another Clear Lake student, Travis Rinkler, who provided background music on guitar.
May brings out some of our finest works in a juried show by Judy Magoon in landscapes of Lake County; and with so many talented artists who are inspired by the beauty surrounding us, that was a difficult task. Now, you can make the decision as you cast your ballot for “People”s Choice” in this very special show.
