By Art Shaw ? letters to the editor

As an octogenarian (84-years young), it still amazes me that some people refuse to help people in need.

I recently suffered a death in my family. My daughter, who lives in Walnut Creek, was making arrangements with the mortuary only to find that she was not on the list of those approved to do so. The mortuary required a fax, signed by me.

I went to one business office and they, in a very curt tone, said they could not help with personal faxes. I next went to the North Bay Association of Realtors and the person there said, “Please let me help you with your fax needs.” The person helped me in a very understanding and sympathetic manner. Bless people like that person who provided extra effort to help me in a time of stress.

If you would like to know who refused to help me, give me a call at 263-5584.
