With Dick Cheney”s Halliburton stock in a blind trust, we are expected to believe that no-bid and unlimited contracts that were given to KBR, a Halliburton subsidiary, was without any conflict of interest on his part. Since when did the American people become so credulous? Now, we are finally going after Al Queda, the perpetrators of the 9/11 terrorist attack, in their homeland. After all, the majority of terrorists on 9/11 were Saudis, our stanchest allies. We cannot blame them, especially since they sit on top of the largest pool of light oil in the world. So, we must pursue the attackers sanctuary, or at least one of them. The most secure sanctuary is getting less secure, as the Pakistani government is attempting to oust the Taliban, the fiercest ally of Al Queda, from its countryside, where it is attempting to attain control and install Sharia, or Moslem holy law. Congress is now rewriting the rules for vetting contracts.
