LAKEPORT ? Lakeport police are investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred Saturday afternoon outside the USA Gas station on Main Street in Lakeport.
Officer Jake Steely and Sgt. Jason Ferguson of the Lakeport Police Department (LPD) responded to the area at approximately 1:30 p.m. to what was initially reported as a robbery and assault, according to Ellen Dills, LPD records director.
“The victim had minor injuries and gave a good description of the suspects, so they were able to locate and identify them,” Dills said.
Steely and Ferguson found Lakeport residents Joseph Paul Horst, 22, Edward Aloysius Mahan, 31, and Michael James Pommier, 33, walking in the area nearby. The men allegedly had the victim”s wallet, which Dills said contained approximately $100. The victim”s name is being withheld, she said.
“This is being investigated as a strong-arm robbery, using force and intimidation by threat of bodily harm,” Dills said.
The men had allegedly threatened to hurt the victim and demanded his wallet. Dills said according to the report, the men hit the victim and grabbed his wallet when he ran. Dills said no weapons were involved, and the victim did not indicate he knew his alleged attackers.
The three suspects are in custody at the Lake County Jail on $100,000 bail each.
