LOWER LAKE ? Clear Lake and Lakeport Regional chambers of commerce are combining their creativity to bring Independence Day fireworks displays to the cities of Clearlake and Lakeport. An elaborate party will take place June 6 at Rolling Knolls Vineyard in Lower Lake with proceeds earmarked for both fireworks display funds.
“Luau on the Lake,” with tickets priced at $50 per person, will feature an array of entertainment along with a bountiful Hawaiian pig roast dinner. There will be Polynesian dancers including a fire dancer, a celebrity auction, themed-photo opportunities with Photos by Carli and a Hawaiian attire costume contest for men, women and couples. Music will be provided by C&G Entertainment.
“Lakeport Chamber of Commerce and Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce are working together to raise funds for our fireworks displays. This fundraiser will benefit all of Lake County,” Clear Lake Chamber Executive Director Lori Peters said. “The community needs to work together on events, business and resources. The chambers are combining their efforts to set an example of how we can work together and this event will offer a fun evening equal to no other.”
Each year the Clear Lake Chamber hosts a special event specifically for raising funds for the annual fireworks display. “Each year this event offers something different for the attendees. It was a Cinco de Mayo event one year and the traditional Americana fare another year,” Peters said. “This year we are hosting a Hawaiian luau at Shannon Ridge”s Rolling Knolls Vineyard. The property is beautiful and offers breath-taking views of the south county including Anderson Marsh and Clear Lake.”
Upon arrival, guests will be transported to the top of the hill by Aero Shuttle and Charter Service where they will be greeted with a lei welcoming ceremony. Before digging into the entr?e of the evening, a Hawaiian blessing will take place over the bounty. Dinner fare will include traditional Hawaiian and American fare for all food enthusiasts. Shannon Ridge Wine and Mai Tai alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be plentiful.
A celebrity bachelor/bachelorette auction hosted by the Lakeport Regional Chamber will highlight the evening. “The Lakeport chamber has created a fundraiser within our fundraiser and will host a bachelor and bachelorette auction with a twist,” Peters said. “Each celebrity bachelor and bachelorette will offer a special package of surprises in the form of a dinner, lunch, getaway or other special surprise. The winning bidder(s) will have the pleasure of the company of the bachelor or bachelorette as well as enjoy the package he or she offers.”
Celebrities up for auction include Marie Berry of the Saw Shop Gallery Bistro; Tammy Silva of Sutter Lakeside Wellness, Kevin Burke, Chief of the Lakeport Police Department; Riley Gossett of Gossett Alarm, Kimberly Kent of Orchard Park, Dr. Paul Axtel, MD and more. “Who knows what these celebrities will include in their special packages,” Peters said.
