LAKE COUNTY — With a little help from the community, about $4,500 to be exact, Lower Lake High School basketball player Katreena Galindo will be dribbling her way to Germany this summer.
Galindo, 17, a junior at Lower Lake, has been selected to participate on an international touring team that will visit Europe in August. A regular at NBC Basketball Camps in past summers, Galindo has earned All-Star and MVP recognition, leading to an invitation to join the touring team.
“While attending camp last summer I tried out to be a member of the international touring team,” Galindo said. “I am very excited to share with you that I was selected as one of only two girls from California to be a member of the international team, which will be touring Germany and the surrounding area in August.”
The $4,500 price tag includes training camp, 14 days overseas travel, two meals a day, lodging and uniforms.
