Having had a few very close calls where motorboats buzzed our swimming beach while I was lawfully swimming, it was good to read that the sheriff”s boat patrol is beefing up its enforcement of boating laws.
Our lake has steadily become very dangerous, loud, littered and polluted by fumes, fuel in launch area water and other, ahem, waste.
A quagga mussel invasion of our lake is another threat and thorough inspections will not only prevent a tourism bust, but many millions in property value loss, water company costs and containment costs, etc. Mussel invasions in the Great Lakes have already cost billions of dollars. The cost to the entire Sacramento River system would be incalculably expensive.
Thank you, Sgt. Ostini and the entire department for taking care of Clear Lake, as well as the people and wildlife that depend on it!
