I”m sure that Clear Lake is one of the more popular boating lakes in California. Unfortunately, there are no license requirements regarding the operation of a boat.
It appears that the Dinius case has aroused much interest in boating safety these days.
There are brochures printed by the DMV and classes offered by the Coast Guard Auxiliary, but boaters and would-be boaters may not be able to take advantage of these fine opportunities.
I have a suggestion. Why doesn”t the Record-Bee offer a series of articles involving boat safety and courtesy in the paper? A possible safety subject could be to make sure your red/green running lights are in the correct quadrant and a courtesy topic could be not to shine your one million candlepower light into another boater”s eyes.
I”m sure this series of articles would spark many suggestions.
