I am writing to you because you have always been the hub of all of Lake County”s current local news as well as the source of information about many of Lake County”s historical events for your readers. I haven”t missed an issue in the 12 years I”ve lived here.
I would like to inform you and hopefully you will inform your readers of a change in proprietorship happening in a restaurant that has operated out of one of the oldest buildings in our town. On Main Street in Kelseyville this nostalgic, old building has hosted the Brick Tavern and the Brick Grill for many years. The restaurant that operated as Marcie”s Brick Grill for several years opened on May 20 as the The Brix Grill, with Leonard and Christie Contreras as the new proprietors. I would like to tell you why I, as well as a host of others, are excited at this news.
After years of employment and management experience working at a pizza restaurant, Lenny moved to Kelseyville and began working at the Saw Shop Gallery and Bistro as the sous chef. The Saw Shop has enjoyed some of the best chefs in the business and Lenny has worked closely with them for nearly a decade. He has more than mastered the culinary art of tastefully cooking and preparing food. Christie also spent an extended period working at the Saw Shop. She was once responsible for many of their gourmet desserts. She then worked at the Brick Grill for several years as their cook.
Lenny and Christie will be serving many of the old dishes and adding a fresh new touch with their new menu and they are extending the scope of the operation to be open seven days a week. Well wishes to both of them.
