CLEARLAKE ? One of eight property owner(s) avoided $2,500 in administrative penalties in action taken by the Clearlake City Council May 28 for failure to abate public nuisances.

The council authorized a total of $17,500 in administrative penalties on the seven remaining properties.

Property owners Victor and Irene Bohn avoided the $2,500 assessment, which is the maximum penalty, by voluntarily abating property at 3515 Cottonwood Street, APN No. 039-161-110. Maximum penalties were levied on the following properties:

?3834 Laddell Avenue, APN No. 040-135-050, owner Creative Investments.

?16407 35th Avenue, APN No. 041-253-420, owner Roland Herbst.

?14955 Saroni Parkway, APN No. 039-284-140, owner Ultrashelter Research Institute Corporation.

?14961 Saroni Parkway, APN No. 039-284-190, owner John Rupert.

?3617 Vista Street, APN No. 039-063-080, owner Edytha Quinn.

?15889 25th Avenue, APN No. 042-161-330, owner Cecil and Raynette Hendricks.

?13586 Fair Oak Road, APN No. 037-373-400, owner Fred Stewart.

According to Code Enforcement Officer Lee Lambert”s staff report, property owners were given notice of the violations and adequate time to voluntarily correct the violations.

The property owners failed to abate the public nuisances within the prescribed time. The property owners were also given notice that they had a right to appeal the imposition of administrative penalties in accordance with section 1-9.7 of the Clearlake Municipal Code “Administrative Appeal.”

Property owner reportedly failed to submit a written notice of appeal within the time allotted in accordance with the Municipal Code.
