HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE — Middletown High School sports star Johnny Harmyk needs your help to reach the Arezzo Invitational Aug. 2-9 in Italy.

Harmyk, a three-sport star at Middletown, has been selected to participate on the USA Athletes International Baseball Team, which will tour Italy later this summer.

With the exception of the U.S. Olympic program, there are few opportunities for athletes to experience international competition well as showcase their talents on an international level.

In an effort to raise money for Harmyk”s trip, a scramble golf tournament is taking pace Saturday at Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course beginning with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Check-in time is 11 a.m. and a raffle for prizes follows the tournament at 6 p.m.

The cost is $30 for Hidden Valley Lake members, $65 for students and $75 for non-HVL members. Checks should be made payable to Johnny Harmyk and mailed along with an entry form, available at area golf courses, to John Harmyk, 18669 Deer Hill Road, Hidden Valley Lake, CA., 95467.

Prizes will be awarded to the first-place team, to the long-drive winner and for closest to the pin.
