CLEARLAKE ? The Clearlake City Council will meet for a special meeting 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Clearlake City Hall. The regular meeting follows at 6 p.m. The public may comment on any agenda item under discussion. Public comment provides citizens an opportunity to speak for three minutes on any topic of choice. The special meeting agenda concerns a conference with labor negotiator for employee organizations.

Consent Calendar items, considered to be non-controversial and will be acted upon as one; include payment of bills, approval of minutes, consideration of rejection of claim submitted by James S. Celestin-Willis, consideration of temporary street closure on Austin Road and consideration of entering into a cost-sharing agreement for traffic signals and street lighting with CalTrans. Any councilmember of member of the public may pull a Consent Calendar item for further discussion.

Business items include:Consideration of accepting the audit (Annual Financial Report) for the City of Clearlake and the Redevelopment Agency for the year ended June 30, 2008, consideration of approval of the recommendation for selection of auditors for the City of Clearlake and the Redevelopment Agency for the three years, consideration of establishing the work study sessions to draft Budget, consideration of confirming assessments for abatement of public nuisances, Review of the city”s insurance rating, consideration of cooperating with the Lake County Sanitation District to improve the sewer collection system in Clearlake. Regular agenda items also include reports by the city administrator and members of the council. Staff reports for each agenda item are available for review at City Hall, 14050 Olympic Drive, during regular business hours.
