Concerning the article “Lakeport asks for decontamination station” that appeared on June 4, kudos to Roy Parmentier for his bringing up the apparent lack of planning regarding how the decontamination stations were to be manned.
I am a boater and I berth my boat in the lake. May I suggest that every boater in and around the lake, and every business that derives its livelihood from the lake contribute at least the cost of two six-packs of beer to a fund called “Keep the quaggas away.”
I”m sure our board could administer the operation of such a group of responsible persons and the funds collected. (I wrote this last sentence with tongue-in-cheek.)
