LAKE COUNTY ? Two passengers were flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Monday morning after a rollover crash on Highway 20, east of Walker Ridge Road.
Sacramento resident Elliot Potterlane, 21, was driving a 1993 Toyota Tercel east on the highway at an unknown speed at approximately 7 a.m., according to a California Highway Patrol report. He was traveling downhill through a right-hand curve and allowed the Toyota to veer onto the right shoulder.
According to the CHP report, Potterlane turned the car”s steering wheel to the left, losing control of the vehicle and sending it across all traffic lanes and over the north edge of the roadway. It rolled 80 feet doewn a steep dirt embankment and landed on its wheels, according to the report.
Passengers Orvil Jizno, 21, of Nice, and Heather Anderson, 24, of Nice, were flown out on REACH helicopters with major injuries, according to the report. Potterlane suffered minor injuries and was not transported from the scene by medical personnel.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be contributing factors, according to the report. The crash is under investigation.
