I would like to say that I am not sure of the happenings of the current situation with Marty Udy resigning, I only know what has been in the paper, but I did want to say that both my boys were active in three different sports while in high school at Lower Lake. While in this high school, the sports department was the last thing this school should be worried about. Marty Udy is an amazing athletic director.

This man gave of his personal time and money to better the children at this school. He is the reason for the new gym. He has been working on this for years. His door was always open to all children, to talk or consult with. Marty Udy would give his own cell phone number out to those who needed it. He was available 24-7.

This athletic director is one of the major reasons that my son is now in a division I university on a full ride, for not basketball, but football. Marty loves basketball, but was also involved with the three sports that my sons were in. When we left for Middletown, the only reservations I had for my sons to leave that school was athletics. The reason they left was the academic nightmares! That”s what the “committee” should be looking at. This sounds like a witch hunt. Marty got this new gym for Lower Lake High School and for all his hard work and dedication he gets this? How sad. Marty: Our family respects and appreciates all the time and hard work that you gave us, our children, and most of all, the school. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you ? the Gipson Family.
