LAKE COUNTY ? On Wednesday at a quagga mussel task force meeting, Sheriff Rodney K. Mitchell announced that effective immediately the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) will be issuing citations for all boats without quagga mussel stickers. The minimum fine is $100.
Lake County residents with current stickers are good indefinitely and out of county boaters stickers need to be renewed annually.
Vessels are subject to re-inspection should the boats be taken to another body of water for use.
Applicable bodies of water are as follows: Clear Lake, Blue Lakes, Indian Valley Reservoir and Lake Pillsbury.

Effective April 8, 2008, all boats require an inspection sticker prior to launching in Lake County waters to protect lakes from invasive quagga and zebra mussels.
Anybody seeing any vessel that does not have a quagga mussel sticker, should note the CF number on the boat and location on the water and call 263-2960, Lake County Sheriff”s Office dispatch.
