SUTTER — Four members of the Lake County Wrestling Club turned in strong performances last weekend at the North Valley Sports Camp at Sutter Union High School in Sutter.

Led by Rutgers University wrestling head coach Scott Goodale and his assistants, camp wrestlers learned technique and competitive wrestling styles.

Lake County Wrest-ling Club members Jacob Jensen and Brandon Garcia competed in the 6-8 division (35-45 pounds), Logan Neasham competed in the 6-8 division (45-55 pounds), and Alex Garcia competed in the 6-8 division (70-80 pounds).

Neasham won the gold medal in his division and captured most valuable wrestler honors, while both Garcias and Jensen also brought home medals.

Lake County Wrest-ling Club coach Adam Garcia said he was “very pleased” that his four wrestlers applied what they have been learning from both him and coach Rob Brown during the season, and for learning new skills at the wrestling camp.

“I was so proud of the boys,” Garcia said.

Boys or girls interested in getting involved in wrestling this summer can contact Garcia at 331-8741 for details. Experience is not required. The club meets once a week during the summer to prepare for the fall tournament season.

The club is open to boys or girls between the ages of 5-17 and there is no fee to participate.
