CLEARLAKE ?Lakeshore Lions Club seeks participants for the 52nd annual Redbud Parade and Festival held on July 4 in downtown Clearlake. The event begins with a parade at 11 a.m. and culminates with the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce”s annual Independence Day fireworks display at dusk.

The theme of the parade is “Story Book Land.” Jim Jonas serves as Grand Marshal. The procession, features marchers, decorated floats, vintage cars, parade and show horses, fire and police vehicles, will begin at Redbud Park and continue down Lakeshore Drive to Austin Park.

Following the parade, the Redbud Festival continues at Austin Park where the Lakeshore Lions and Lakeshore Lioness serve food, cold drinks and beer. The festival features the ninth annual “Show and Shine Car Show,” a carnival midway, live music and vendors. The chamber of commerce will also host the 42nd annual International Worm Races near the entrance of the park.

Free parking will be available at Haverty Field.

To enter the parade pick up an entry form at the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, Bob”s Vacuum, Clearlake Automotive, Kevin Ness Jewelers and Ride-on! Bikes in Clearlake. Parade entry deadline is June 26.
