I received a Medi-Cal notice today, June 27, that tells me Medi-Cal benefits will no longer pay for:

dental services, speech therapy, podiatry services, audiology services, incontinence creams and washes. Therefore, picture this:

A grandpa who fought in World War II, or in the Korean and Vietnam War, as a friend of mine did, who is without teeth, or in need of having teeth pulled and then needing replacement teeth, but has to go without; who has suffered a stroke but cannot get speech therapy so has to remain until death babbling; who cannot hear any more but can”t get hearing help, and a grandpa who scratches all the time because his incontinence causes rashes you know where.

Is that the way we want to treat our grandmothers and grandfathers, or our veterans of foreign wars, or any other elderly man or woman in America facing their golden years?

May we see members of the House in Sacramento, including the governor in such a state, as they have done to those who voted to put them into office.

Picture this: A grandma falling down at her senior complex and she can”t get up; who calls for help and no other senior can hear her …

A grandma who has foot problems but has to use a wheelchair now because she cannot be seen by a foot doctor.

Shame, shame, shame.
