LAKE COUNTY ? Authorities are seeking the assistance of the public in locating a man on parole who is believed to have left the scene of a vehicle collision on Sunday. According to authorities, Berret J. Brown, 24, should be considered armed and dangerous.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) Clear Lake area reported that at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sunday Brown was driving northbound on Highway 53 in a 1995 Mazda MX6 approaching the stop sign at junction with Highway 20. A 41-year-old female from Oak Groove in a 2000 Mercedes was reportedly stopped at the stop sign in front of Brown.
For unknown reasons, Brown allegedly allowed the front of his vehicle to strike the back end of the Mercedes. After the crash, Berret and his unknown passenger pushed the Mazda out of the roadway and left the scene on foot.
A search was conducted by the CHP and the Lake County Sheriff”s Department; however neither Berret nor his passenger were located.
