LAKE COUNTY ? A joint-agency operation resulted in the confiscation of 15,000 marijuana plants on Tuesday. The plants were seized from a total of five separate growing operations in the Blue Lakes area.
Personnel from Lake County Sheriff”s Department, California Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) contributed to the enforcement act. The marijuana cultivation operations were reportedly located south/west of Blue Lake in Lake County. One of the grows was on private property while the remaining four were located on public BLM land.
All of the grows were uninhabited at the time of the enforcement operation and no arrests were made.
According to Lake County Sheriff Captain Rob Howe, law enforcement personnel in Lake County seized 322,063 marijuana plants thus far this year. Twelve firearms and 14 arrests were made in connection to these marijuana cultivation operations.
