I think District Attorney Hopkins knew better than to allow the boating death case to go to trial with the vehicular manslaughter charges still attached. He has just been giving the public a song and dance. If that charge went to trial, the cover-up would have been exposed. What a dirty trick, dismissing the charges so the county doesn”t have to pay Dinius” attorney fees. It was all a facade.
Where is the newly empaneled Lake County Grand Jury? Are they in bed with the sheriff and DA on this?
And to ex-officer Jim Beland: You should have done the “right thing” and tested citizen Perdock. You got fired anyway. Your personal message on the back of the LCSO flash card, sponsored by a local tire company states: “A great mind is one that is drug free.” Do the right thing and present yourself to the grand jury and let”s get the ball rolling by asking for the FBI to investigate. Lynn Thornton and her family, not to mention the county, deserve to know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
