Kudos to Lake County Code Enforcement and also to the California Fish and Game Department! In an article by staff reporter Tiffany Revelle, dated July 13, a situation out on New Long Valley Road involving a landowner, some pot plants and the damming up of the creek was discussed.

I am a neighbor and have had to tolerate this situation way too long. Numerous calls to the sheriff”s department and the fire department seem to have had no effect or follow through. But a complaint to code enforcement brought swift response and coordinated efforts with the California Department of Fish and Game. All of us who live out here so appreciate the professionalism of these two departments because finally something is being done.

This is a vacant parcel with people living on it. No bathroom facilities, so one can only assume they are defecating in the creek, and the noise and yelling and foul language emanating from this parcel goes on most of the day. The occasional gunfire, and accidentally started fires keep all of us on edge.

So, much thanks and appreciation to our Lake County Department of Code Enforcement and the California Department of Fish and Game! Now if we could get the same help from the sheriff”s department and the fire department, maybe we could find a resolution to this before something really terrible happens.
