The mussels are coming, oh what to do, say the supervisors!
Let”s throw money out the window, like we did by buying the hot houses for which we are now going to lose $20,000 hard- earned dollars of the taxpayers” money per unit.
Let”s not set aside a fund just for the cleaning up of the mess mussels make every day, every day, every day ? they do not go away.
Let”s not contact any other lake people to learn what they did or are doing.
No, let”s ask the park people again ? they do not know what they do regarding mussels and they know nothing about being frugal when it comes to spending the public monies
Let”s not get the water and sewer people involved. They will be when the mussels come. It should be their job to see all the sewer, water and irrigation pipes which are in the lake, are kept free of the mussels. Who is going to pay for all this ? that”s right, the landowners, sewer users, and water users.
Better start planning folks, the expense of living on Clear Lake is going to rise, shortly. Housing is going to be real cheap, real soon, if no planning is done to protect the millions of dollars invested in homes on the lake. Guess where all the vacationers are going to go now ? not to Clear Lake.
Who to blame, well you all elected them ? now what to do ? well, replace them like we need to replace every representative we sent to city hall, Sacramento and Washington, D.C. to work for us instead of the lobbying crowd. They take the money, the favors, the goodies and forget why they are there.
I lived on a lake for 13 years with the mussels.
