What if?

On Sunday, Aug. 2 I was correctly and politely stopped by one of three sheriff”s marine patrol working just off-shore of Konocti Resort. I was informed that I was exceeding the 5 mph no wake zone “by 2 or 3 mph.” I thanked the officer and he proceeded to continue his patrol. About three hours later, a second officer stopped my grandson who had rented a Wave Runner and informed him that he was going “a bit too fast” inside the 5 mph zone. Again, correctly and politely.
That night all I could think of was where were these officers several years ago and had they been patrolling the lake would an innocent lady still be around to enjoy the rest of her life?
