My friend recently asked me to see “SiCKO,” a documentary by Michael Moore, someone I had avoided for years.

This documentary will answer your questions about national health care. It is a well-done film with Americans telling us their health care experiences and with Humana, Blue Cross and other well-known insurance companies. It also answers the question, how did we get to this point with HMOs being in charge of our medical care.

I highly recommend this film, especially in the face of great adversity against our president”s call for national health care.

I worked without health care, had emergency surgery and was charged thousands of dollars. I proposed to pay each month to the hospital and doctor what I could afford to pay and the hospital said no. As a result, my credit was ruined. That is but one time in my life of many health care challenges that my children and I endured.

This film is highly educational and very timely at this point. I hope that those who rent it will write to the newspaper about their thoughts on this subject as well.
