American politics has taken a radical turn to the surreal. Conservatives are now the new radicals and are considered dangerous by the White House. The recent protests at town hall meetings across the nation have been derided by the left as “astro-tuft” and other belittling terms. Nancy Pelosi went as far as to say protesters were carrying swastikas. I”ve yet to see any media report, on any channel, showing this. But then again maybe Nancy sees and hears things that other people don”t.
The Democrats” reaction to the protest demonstrates their hierocracy and their arrogance. When the left stages a protest it”s good for society and an exercise of First Amendment rights. And when people demonstrate against Obama”s policies it”s termed unhealthy; as David Axelrod did during the Tea Party demonstrations. The left bemoans the tactics used by these mostly gray-haired protesters as unfair and counter-productive, but applauded even more extreme tactics by the left for eight years during the Bush administration. I”m surprised they haven”t used a favorite term of Stalin and Mao; “counter-revolutionary.”
The polls are clearly showing the public is turning against the president”s health care vision. These are the same pollsters that had Obama walking on water a few short months ago. Yet the administration continues to state that the public wants Obama-care and that the anger seen at these town hall meetings is manufactured by the Republicans through disinformation.
Now here”s the part that should scare the daylights out of everybody, no matter what party you are affiliated with. The White House has set up a Web site so they can gather information on the so-called disinformation and those who are spreading it. Included in this request for info are casual conversations between citizens. Inform on your neighbors” opinions? This is something straight out of the KGB and Gestapo handbook, not to mention flat out illegal. The administration claims they are not gathering info on individuals, but if this is true why the request for the information in the first place? I am afraid that we have elected an American version of Hugo Chavez.
The left is trying to jam their radical, socialist policies down our throats on their march toward a totalitarian government. If they are building dossiers on Americans they consider “counter revolutionary” I hope I can count on Mr. Strasser of the Lake County Democratic Committee to forward this letter to the White House, because I want my dossier to be one of the thickest.
