Citizens of Clearlake: Why don”t you attend the Clearlake City Council meetings? Could it be that you don”t feel comfortable with the current mayor, Chuck Leonard? Other than a lone heraldic gadfly, few dare to challenge him. There seems to be a big hurry to end meetings with little or no discussion. Perhaps he doesn”t know that it is a mayor”s job to encourage public support.
When you watch the Clearlake City Council on TVS certain contempt for our society shows up. As a veteran, I expect the mayor to lead and participate in the opening pledge of allegiance. But he always steps back and puts his hands at his side. In these trying times, disunity and contempt are disturbing practices.
So, Mr. mayor, step forward and put your hand over your heart and unify the city.
