LAKE COUNTY ? There is a legitimate fundraising effort under way via telephone soliciting for the Lake County Correctional Officers Association.
In the past 18 months, the organization has donated funds to the following local charities: Toys for Tots, Kelseyville Kiwanis, Clearlake Oaks Fire District, Lake County Jr. Giants, Sheriff”s Activity League, Redwood Children Services, Clearlake High School Safe and Sober, American Cancer Society, Miss Lake County, Upper Lake High School Light Fund, Oakland Police Memorial Fund, Correctional Officer”s Memorial Fund and two $2500 scholarships for Clearlake Seniors bound for college.
All solicitations should be verified as legitimate to protect those donating to charities.
