LAKE COUNTY ? On Aug. 1, a 25-year-old Hidden Valley Lake woman said she was raped after having some drinks with friends and family members at Twin Pine Casino in Middletown on July 31. The suspect was reported to be an acquaintance of the victim, who was also at the casino that night and had allegedly offered to take her home when she had apparently had too much to drink, according to a public information release from Capt. James Bauman, public information officer for Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO).
Subsequent to several days” worth of further investigation, on Aug. 6, detectives with the Sheriff”s Major Crimes Unit secured an arrest warrant and accompanying search warrant for the man who drove the victim from Twin Pine Casino the night before she reported the rape. John Wesley Dunn, 25, of Hidden Valley Lake was arrested at his place of employment in Hidden Valley Lake without incident and the search warrant was executed on his home and vehicle that same day.
Dunn faces felony charges of rape and kidnapping with the intent to commit rape. He remains in custody at the Lake County Jail with a $350,000 bail.
