Also present was a Catalyst coordinator from Napa Unified School District who was interested in obtaining information to bring Team DUI”s prevention program to Napa County.

The mission of Team DUI is to work with the community to raise awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence with the focus on underage drinking. The purpose of the summit was to bring together multiple agencies to share ideas that would increase the effectiveness of Team DUI for the school year.

“It takes a Herculean effort of planning, setting of objectives and determining courses of action to achieve a significant impact on the alcohol/drug problems within our community with the focus on our youth,” Vice Mayor Judy Thein, said. “Bringing together this many agencies and representatives at one time is a dedicated commitment from everyone.

In just less than three years “Team DUI has already created a powerful effect throughout our county,” Thein said.

Ideas were formulated and will be condensed. The most effective ideas will be put into action.
