I don”t know how any of this works. I keep hearing about submitting a letter to the editor in online surveys, along with letters to your congressmen, etc.
I”ve never done anything of this sort before and hardly ever read my local newspaper. I know freedom of speech is about as useless as any other freedom out there; subjugated, propagated, abrogated.
But, lo-and-behold, for my own emotional, human need to vent, and explore that which is unknown to me, I find myself here and without further ado I”ll write here what I came to, in a manner of speaking.
This is how America is these days; the people have lost all will and power (willpower) to boycott and stick up for themselves. It”s a dog-eat-dog world out there.
In corporate America, kids don”t dish out an unreasonable amount of cash and time to go to college in order to help people, they do it in order to make more money and have a better, happier, more comfortable life.
Sadly, it”s every man for himself; that is what our American culture has become, and if by letting the poor beggar die in the streets makes that little life in the two-car garage, lazing in your recliner by the fire, watching your HDTV, all the more easier, so be it.
The rich man will leave Lazarus out in the streets with the dogs licking his wounds. And when the poor man dies and is carried by the angels into heaven, the rich man will be buried away in the ground, cast forever into torment, begging, but knowing … wishing he had helped that poor man, Lazarus … wishing he had helped you and me … the lesser Americans who don”t make enough to be considered by “high society.”
This was in response to a question a woman asked on a message board regarding how she was supposed to pay her medical bills when rejected for MediCal and being a stay-at-home mother with too many children to feed.
So, tell me just how stupid I am, that I can”t write and shouldn”t try, and I”ll get back to my life. And be honest!
