I don”t know why you publish that “Mallard Fillmore” cartoon; a very unfunny, right-wing commentary. I think it”s to balance a generally non-political, but occasionally slightly liberal “Doonesbury” cartoon.
Today”s Mallard Fillmore” (August 19 Record-Bee) is despicable. It suggests that our president, who just lost his beloved grandmother last year, advocates getting rid of old people.
Nothing in his evolving, hopefully, soon-to-be passed, health care reform program, has any provision for the so-called “death panels” as touted by Sarah “Barracuda” Palin”s rants.
The health care system we now have makes it impossible for many older Americans to obtain insurance, while insurance company executives rake in hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation while child mortality and adult longevity rates continue to signal that there must be a better system and we need reform now!
