The article on the Record-Bee front page on Aug. 15 shows a reason why you do not want the government providing your health care. Because Bill Conway”s son was in the hospital they cut off his SSI. What happens when his son comes home and there is no home?
People need to learn that nothing is free. You are going to pay one way or another, especially when the government is involved. They cannot run any programs right. Every time they stick their noses in our business it ends up costing us.
Remember AT&T and the breakup. The government said they were too big, so they broke them up into Baby Bells. Well, what happened to the Baby Bells, they are now AT&T with extremely higher rates, which we all pay for now in higher phone bills. How are they going to pay for health care for 45 million Americans? They say by taxing the people who make over $250,000 a year. You can”t support 45 million people on taxing less than 1 percent of the people.
Then they said they would take money from Medicare. They don”t have enough money in Medicare now, according to their own figures. They are borrowing that money.
The Congress can”t even read the bills they sign. The State of California spends more than it takes in. Any person with half a brain knows you can”t spend more than you take home, yet our lawmakers still don”t understand the concept. Get rid of all leeches in government. Start getting some real people elected.
