MENDOCINO — The Kelseyville Knights kicked off the fall sports season in Lake County with a 25-14, 25-14, 25-16 non-league varsity volleyball victory over the Mendocino Cardinals on Wednesday night in Mendocino.
Skyler Olsen and Ashley Mueller had four kills apiece for the Knights (1-0), Ty Van Housen led the team with four blocks, and Amanda Ray served up a team-best five aces.
“We need to work on our serve receive,” Kelseyville coach Donelle McCallister said, “but our serving was more consistent than I thought it would be.”
Kelseyville won the junior varsity match 25-17, 25-12.
The Knights are home tonight to play Ukiah. JV action starts at 4:30 p.m.
