KELSEYVILLE — The Kelseyville Knights ran headlong into a tough Ukiah High School volleyball club on Thursday, falling 25-12, 25-18, 27-29, 25-15 to the Wildcats at Kelseyville.
“They”ve got six really top players all the way down to their libero,” Kelseyville coach Donelle McCallister said. “They”re just an awesome team and I like them. It”s always fun to play up.”
Kelseyville (1-1) scratched out a win in game three to avoid the sweep.
“I”m proud of my girls. They never gave up and they did a very good job,” McCallister said.
Ashley Mueller”s six kills paced the Knights. Other team leaders were Skyler Olsen with three aces and freshman Jennifer Green with three blocks.
“I”m so proud of her,” McCallister said of Green.
Kelseyville”s coach also had praise for the hustle of libero Sarah Johnson and the passing of Ariel Facey.
Ukiah won the JV match 25-22, 25-14.
The Knights are back in action Sept. 10 at Healdsburg.
