I am responding to “USPS to blame.” The article was published on Aug. 25 in the Record-Bee.

The company, Lake County Publishing, says they take their papers to the Post Office in Clearlake each week.

They wonder why their papers are sent to Petaluma for sorting.

Gosh, that is a no-brainer! Do you think we hire private citizens to sort and drive mail to post offices within a certain radius?

How do you think we can cancel all the stamps so they can not be used again?

The only way to do that is send them to a sorting facility like Petaluma.

What cracks me up is that if they drop them off one day in Clearlake, they are back from Petaluma and delivered the next day.

I can tell you right now, with 99.9 -percent certainty, that if a person puts an ad in the mail for Lake County Publishing three days before the event you will get a good turn out.

That means that the day you mail it, it will go to Petaluma.

The next day Lake County Publishing will have it. So if they put it in their paper on time, that day, then you won”t be blaming the USPS for anything. Like I said, if it”s mailed in Lake County on one day, it”s delivered the next. Even after a trip to Petaluma.
