COBB ? Major injuries resulted in a two vehicle, head-on collision that occurred in the Cobb Mountain area Wednesday morning.
Two victims involved in the collision required aerial transport via REACH air ambulance.
According to California Highway Patrol Clear Lake area Public Information Officer Steven Tanguay, the collision occurred when Phyllis Sullivan, 56 of Cobb, allowed the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse she was driving to cross over double yellow lines directly in the path of the 2004 Dodge Stratus driven by Jennifer McConlogue, 32, of Cobb.
At approximately 8:52 a.m. Sullivan was traveling eastbound on Highway 175 at an unknown speed.
She was traveling downhill through a curve in the roadway when for an unknown reason she allegedly crossed over the solid double-yellow lines and entered the westbound lane of traffic.
McConlogue was traveling westbound on Highway 175, west of Estates Drive when Sullivan”s vehicle allegedly entered her lane of traffic and collided head-on with McConlogue”s vehicle.
McConlogue was transported via REACH air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for major injuries sustained in the collision. Malcolm Campbell, 51, of Middletown, who was a passenger in Sullivan”s vehicle, was also transported via REACH to the Santa Rosa hospital. Sullivan was transported via ambulance to St. Helena Hospital Clearlake.
The collision remains under investigation by Officer S. Curtis.
