LAKEPORT ? A sedan crashed head-on into an unmarked sheriff”s department emergency services at car about 11 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 11th and Forbes streets, California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated.
A man in a white pickup and the county employee were transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital, said officer Erich Paarsch of Clearlake CHP. Paarsch didn”t know the names of the drivers or their health status.
Lakeport police responded but referred the collision to CHP, said Lt. Brad Rasmussen of Lakeport police.
“I don”t believe that the injuries were life threatening,” Rasmussen said.
The man in the pick-up truck pulled out from Forbes Street and clipped the back end of a teenager driving a sedan on 11th Street, sending the teen into the other lane, hitting the sheriff ?s department car, Paarsch said. The two cars spun around, stopping with their front ends on the sidewalk of 11th Street. Paarsch thought the Lake County Office of Emergency Services car was the third vehicle involved.
