Many years ago I didn”t want to go and never went to a thrift store, St. Vincent de Paul”s, or the Salvation Army. Today, I am thankful for and blessed with the help and good buys there, and at local garage sales, and flea markets.
Living green seems to be one of the very best ways to honor our Father and Mother Earth! Living green includes using sustainable products and repurposing, whether it be barn wood, furniture, bath and kitchen fixtures, clothing, toys, or any other reusable opportunity.
As a member of First Baptist Church at Pearl and Mullen in Clearlake, I have had occasion to volunteer at our sharing closet ? all items free and repurposing at its finest ? feeling so appreciative of the many clean and in good repair donations received on a regular basis from our Lake County community family.
It is right and good to reach out to our brothers and sisters and their children to share what is reusable by not discarding as unimportant. In addition, food is also provided at no charge, all because of our members” generosity toward our community, feeding with grocery items, those who are hungry. We must never let one person, nor one child go hungry or cold.
Pastor Larry Fanning and members practice what is taught in the Holy Bible, which is a blueprint for living ? thank you Jesus! Lake County is a caring and sharing community family and I am proud to be a part of what is happening here.
Food, clothing and toys are available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Sunday school for all ages is at 9:30 a.m./church services are at 11 a.m. There are team kids, adult and senior classes, nursery services and a potluck the first Sunday of each month.
