I have only been in the county for three and one-half years and already I am beginning to wonder how this county got so screwed up. In the cities there seems to be little or no code enforcement. In the City of Clearlake I believe some officers lie on official documents. In the county I think the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) regularly stages raids and seizes property with no warrant or knowledge of their superiors. Officials try to subvert state laws through ordinances. And then, there is the Dinius case.
In 1969 I had a drunk woman hit me head-on, in my lane, while I was riding a motorcycle. The Alabama Highway Patrol tried to make it my fault. God knows that being in Alabama on a motorcycle with California plates while in the Army should really show guilt. So I can really sympathize with Dinius. He should have had more sense than to allow a member of the LCSO hit him in the butt at a high rate of speed. I”m sure that in the Lake County boating regulations it states that sailboats are not allowed on the lake while LCSO members are conducting speed trials.
The only way this county can save itself from being a California laughing stock is by having a mass booting out of those who are running the county on the Good Ol” Boy system. We need to show the rest of California that laws do apply equally to everyone in Lake County. With the economy in the dumper it is more important now, than ever before, that the image of the county beckons to those who want to build businesses and live or vacation in Lake County.
We need to show everyone that by coming to Lake County one is not entering into the Good Ol” Boy zone. A county does not get into the horrible shape this county is in without the help of the county fathers. Therefore, they need to be put out to pasture and a fresh new set put in. Such a move would encourage more people to invest in the county with the confidence that their investment might show a profit.
