This is an open letter to the Lake County Genetically Engineered Crop Advisory Committee.

I was dismayed and shocked when Supervisor Rob Brown, on Aug. 25, asserted six members of your committee had e-mailed him and supported his desire to dismiss the alternates of the committee, thereby eliminating one alternate committee member.

I was angered by Supervisor Brown talking to two of the advisory committee members in private, without the presence or knowledge of the rest of the committee.

Supervisor Brown has pledged to uphold the constitution and all the laws therein. I believe he is unlawfully promoting his own political viewpoint so the committee comes up with the recommendation he wants.

I remind you that you operate under “Robert”s Rules of Order” and the Brown Act.

There are guidelines and codes I believe have been broken. The chapter on discipline in “Robert”s Rules of Order” states it is up to the committee to censure its own members and their activity.

I am asking that the committee look into possible misconduct and inappropriate communications by members of the advisory committee and excuse the two committee members, Broc Zoller and Victoria Brandon, who met with Supervisor Brown in private.
