On Sept. 9 Sheriff Rodney Mitchell and the Lake County Sheriff”s Department held a local vendor fair. The intent was to familiarize local businesses with the products and services the sheriff”s department purchases and give local businesses the opportunity to provide the sheriff”s department with these goods and services.
As a business owner and a member of the Lake County Chamber, Kelseyville Business Association and the Clearlake Chamber, we are always encouraging Lake County residents and businesses to shop local. I am impressed that the sheriff”s department is reaching out to local businesses and actually walking the walk.
When dollars are spent locally we all benefit. For every dollar spent locally it comes back to the county three-fold in increased revenue. Tax dollars are a significant amount of the county”s budget.
By shopping local we are supporting our friends and neighbors, not only the business owners but the employees of the businesses as well. Thank you Sheriff Mitchell and staff.
