LAKEPORT ? Lake County wineries will pour their best and restaurants will offer samples starting at 5 p.m. today at the 10th annual Lake County Wine Auction.
The Lake County Wine Alliance is holding the auction to benefit the arts, health and the community at 5 p.m. today at the National Guard Armory in Lakeport. The auction has donated more than $700,000 to the community during the past nine years.

Tom DiNardo will auction off wines, tours and trips. Some of the highlights include: Half case of the 2006 Steele Wines Red Hills Cabernet Sauvignon and a Salmanazar, a 9-liter bottle, of the same wine for auction. A Gregory Graham wine tour with tasting, two bottles of wine and a lunch will also be up for auction.
Vacations to Mexico, golf stays, a Lake County Sheriff”s firing range lunch and a handcrafted wine bar are among some of the items featured.
Four box seat 49er tickets, including a two-night stay in San Francisco, will be auctioned off. A duck hunt for two that comes with food and a stay in a two-bedroom house has been donated for auction. A four-night houseboat excursion and two cases of wine will be for sale.
The LC Diamonds will play as attendees enjoy the food, wine and atmosphere.
Every year, the Wine Alliance board selects Lake County programs and charities to receive proceeds from the event. For the health section, the Lake County Hunger Task Force, Meals on Wheels programs at senior centers and St. Helena Hospital Clearlake mammogram screening. People Services, Stitch & Give knitters, Vietnam Veterans of Lake County and Senior Law Project will be the community beneficiaries. Arts programs at Lake County high schools and the Allegro Scholarship Program will be presented with arts funding.
